It’s funny, we spend a lot of money on our PC’s to build the ultimate gaming system. Top-of-the-line hardware, the latest and greatest graphics cards, cooling, RGB Fans and lighting for our amusement, super high-quality 4k Monitors, the works.

Yet, one thing that doesn’t get talked about that much, are speakers. Sure, most people gaming use headsets, and many sound good. But sometimes, we want to game or play something without having the headset constantly on our head blasting sound in our ears.

I recently got a good soundbar for my system that didn’t cost too much money. Really, it just adds to the experience of gaming. Sure, my monitor has speakers in it, but they suck. That’s why I’m using the Creative Stage V2 on my PC.

The Creative Stage V2, and affordable Soundbar for PC without the frills.

I have this soundbar underneath my monitor and the subwoofer on the side. It’s not the most powerful, most expensive setup. But it’s sure as hell better than someone’s monitor speakers. I have it hooked up via Optical Adapter, and it sounds good and works well. You can also use it with USB if you want. Optical just gives me a bit more sound options in my opinion, based on my motherboard’s S/PDIF port and the Realtek drivers.

Games like the newly released Hi-Fi Rush should be played with better sound than what a pair of crappy PC speakers can provide. But I also feel that it should be played without a headset on, and having a good sound setup is key to enjoying this game. Really, any game where sound is a key point of the experience should be played with good speakers.

Anyways, I want to make a case about having a small soundbar for PC’s when you don’t need to game with a headset on. It’s just so much different playing some game or watching a video that uses sound, and it just improves the experience for me. Maybe grab a Razer Leviathan for the RGB if you want, or something more substantial like from Samsung. Either way, I think a soundbar on a PC Setup might be better than even speakers.
